Photography history in Pokhara
The photography in Pokhara started started in professional way just about half a century ago in 1960A.D. Before that only the person who were keen on photography used to do photography as their hobby. The first photo studio opened in Pokhara was "Narayan Photographer" in 1960 by Khem Narayan Shrestha. Since then few more studios were opened until the opening of our own "Photo Everest".
Our History
Talking about the work experience, I first entered the photography field at the age of 17. I learnt photography and worked in a photo shop called Photo Sansar (now transformed to a color lab). I worked there for few years (from 1879-1883) to gain enough knowledge & experience and open my own Photo Studio.
In 11th August 1983, I inaugurated my own Photo Studio naming it as "PHOTO EVEREST". I provided only black & white photo service as there were no color photo system in Pokhara then.
By then we used to print out photo with the help of chemicals for the print out. It was a long process which used to take half of the days to print out/make photo. But now with the evolution of science/technology, today's photos are all of digital system and quality. Nowadays, we provide quick photo service. There is digital system applied in both photography as well as video graphy.
